Black History Month: Then and Now

The Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences will celebrate black history with a reception featuring soul food from local black-owned restaurant Hot Sauce Williams, music, an open mic and a festive atmosphere. Attendees are invited to wear clothing to symbolize their black heritage or pride, such as traditional garb or the colors of a historically black college or university. The reception will be held Wednesday, Feb. 28, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Mandel School's Noble Commons. Collective Action Towards Social Justice at the Mandel School also will celebrate black excellence by hosting a bazaar that features black-owned businesses in the Greater Cleveland area Feb. 22 and 27, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the school’s Noble Commons.
