Scientists find common household plastics linked to heart disease
Prevention: Sanjay Rajagopalan, director of Case Western Reserve University’s Cardiovascular Research Institute, said that di-2-ethylhexylphthalate (DEHP) and other phthalates are used to make various products, such as food containers, medical equipment and household items. They've been shown to infiltrate the arteries of humans and contribute to heart disease.
