Case Western Reserve University students win awards at Cleveland Medical Hackathon

Case Western Reserve University students took home awards from the Cleveland Medical Hackathon in October.

Flare

Flare, a team of three Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine students and two software engineers, were named the overall second place winner. The team designed an app to crowdsource life-saving help for an opioid overdose. The Flare team consists of students Daniel Moussa, Elizabeth Shay and Jessica Zhang, and software engineers Carl Kashnier and Fred Longo.

Reflexion Interactive Technologies

Matt Campagna of Reflexion Interactive Technologies came in overall third place and won the Care Redesign Award. Reflexion Interactive Technologies is developing a low-cost method to screen athletes for concussions. Read more about Campagna in this week’s five questions.

MagentaCare

MagentaCare won in the Population Health Track for its dashboard to track the heroin epidemic. The team consists of School of Medicine students Satyam Ghodasara, Alex Schmidt and Nakul Singh.
