Celebrate International Education Week with cultural events Nov. 11-15

The Center for International Affairs will celebrate International Education Week Nov. 11-15. International Education Week, a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Department of Education, celebrates the benefits of international education and global exchange. The celebration aims to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn and engage in exchange experiences in the United States. The week will include events intended to stimulate cultural understanding within the community, highlight the diversity of cultural events taking place locally and support an inclusive environment and worldview. There will be multiple events each day; some of the week’s programs are:
  • Monday, Nov. 11: “Trip to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” 11 a.m.–3:30 p.m, Hovorka Atrium.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 12: “Child Welfare in Guatemala,” 12:45-2 p.m., Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, Room 320BC.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 13: Circle Connections: International Student Networking, 5-7 p.m., Sculpture Center (1834 E. 123rd St.)
  • Thursday, Nov. 14: “CWRU Opportunities in India,” 3-4:30 p.m., Tomlinson Hall Large Conference Room 135
  • Friday, Nov. 15: Middle Eastern Culture Association Fall Hafleh, 6-10 p.m., The Spot, Leutner Commons
