Join friends, colleagues, and family in celebrating the life and legacy of James McGuffin-Cawley, beloved mentor, educator, leader, and friend.

Jim’s legacy lives on in every classroom, lab, and hallway he touched at Case Western Reserve University. A quiet, yet powerful presence, he built bridges, lifted others, and found joy in simple acts of service—from mentoring faculty and students, to finding the next big project to start at Sears think[box]. As shared by Venkataramanan “Ragu” Balakrishnan, former dean of the engineering school:
“Jim was a man of quiet impact… never driven by personal glory, but by a spirit of service to what was right for this institution and its people.”
Please join us at think[box] to celebrate his life and impact. We invite you to arrive at 4:00 PM for opening remarks from those who knew and loved Jim, followed by a reception in his honor.
