Chemistry’s Carlos Crespo elected as American Society for Photobiology councilor

Carlos Crespo, professor and associate dean for research in the Department of Chemistry, was recently elected as one of the American Society for Photobiology (ASP) councilors for a four-year term.

The American Society for Photobiology is a professional, nonprofit scientific organization established in 1973 to promote research and knowledge in photobiology, the study of interactions between light and living organisms.

As a member of the ASP council, Crespo will help shape the scientific direction, governance and future initiatives of the organization. This includes participation in council meetings, service on committees and engagement with activities that support the ASP mission and community.
