Classics’ Paul Iversen gives presentation of the Antikythera mechanism using extended reality in Berlin
Last month, Paul Iversen, associate professor and chair of the Department of Classics at Case Western Reserve University, gave a general talk about the Antikythera mechanism, a 2,100-year-old ancient Greek device widely considered the world's first analog computer, at Max-Planck Institute für Wissenschaftsgeschichte in Berlin.
During Iversen’s presentation, titled “See through Greek time: The Antikythera mechanism in 3D,” audience members had the opportunity to view a 3D model made at Interactive Commons using extended reality (XR) glasses.
