Elina Gertsman, Distinguished University Professor, the Andrew W. Mellon Professor in the Humanities, and Professor of Medieval Art in the Department of Art History and Art at Case Western Reserve University was appointed book review editor for art history of Speculum, the flagship journal of the Medieval Academy of America.

Speculum is the premier publication in medieval studies, open to contributions in all disciplinary fields and methodologies studying the Middle Ages. Arabic, Byzantine, Central Asian, European, Hebrew and Slavic studies are included.

The Medieval Academy of America is the largest organization in the United States promoting excellence in the field of medieval studies.Founded in 1925, this organization supports publication and teaching in:
