Complete new training requirement for grants
STORY BY: EDITORIAL STAFF
Senior and key personnel on new federal grant applications, competitive renewals and research performance progress reports (RPPRs) must complete the National Institutes of Health’s annual Research Security and Disclosure Training requirement no later than Oct. 1. Individuals on externally-funded projects—regardless of funding source—must complete this training by Dec. 31.
At Case Western Reserve University, senior and key personnel are defined as:
- Individuals who participate in the design, planning and conduct of a research project; and,
- Those designated as financial conflict of interest investigators in SpartaGrants.
Case Western Reserve University offers the hour-long training—titled “Research Security Training (Combined)”—through the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Program. Upon completion, CWRU’s Research Security Programs office will automatically be notified and the SpartaGrants attestation will be updated to confirm its completion. To start the training and view instructions, visit the Research Security Programs webpage. Be sure to select the appropriate affiliate link to access the training.
Principal investigators must ensure that all senior and key personnel on their grants complete the training.
