CWRU researchers name new praying mantis species in honor of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg

New praying mantis honors Ruth Bader Ginsburg, equality and frilly neckwear The Washington PostSydney Brannoch, a PhD candidate, and Gavin Svenson, adjunct assistant professor of biology, recently used the female genitalia of praying mantises to distinguish different species. In doing so, they discovered a new species, which they named Ilomantis ginsburgae in honor of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
