CWRU School of Law to host the ASIL’s Midyear Meeting

The American Society of International Law’s Midyear Meeting will be held Sept. 25–27, in Cleveland at Jones Day law firm, the Botanical Gardens, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Case Western Reserve University School of Law. 

“With the radical changes to American Foreign Policy in the past eight months, this theme could not be more important or timely,” said Michael Scharf, associate dean for global legal studies and one of the conference’s principal organizers.

The conference, “Turning Points and Paradigm Shifts in International Law,” will feature 32 panels of experts and five keynote speakers: 

  • Leo Gordon, senior judge, United States Court of International Trade 
  • Alex Chalk, former United Kingdom lord chancellor and secretary of state for justice 
  • Mark Ellis, PhD, executive director of the International Bar Association
  • Rena Lee, ambassador for international law, Singapore 
  • Bryce Rudvyk, director of international environmental law, Guarini Center on Environmental, Energy and Land Use Law
