Two teams of Case Western Reserve University students were the top two competitors in the Collegiate Division at the second annual Medical Capital Innovation Competition.
RADIOME, a startup which seeks to predict whether neoadjuvant chemotherapy will benefit cancer patients to reduce ineffective treatment and surgery, won first place and $6,000.
InSpirit, a team developing a wristband that monitors hydration levels and is particularly suited to elderly patients in nursing homes, took second place and $3,000.
