Case Western Reserve University’s second Report to the Community is now available online to the campus community. This year’s report highlights Case Western Reserve University’s work in the STEM fields—Science, Technology, Engineering and Math—but it’s important to note the university’s outreach and positive impact go so much further. With expertise in everything from medicine to law, art to business and beyond, the entire campus community dedicates time and talent to building a better world.
Collectively, the campus has invested over 472,000 hours of volunteer service in the community—an increase from last year’s 425,000. Understanding the importance and value of capturing such information, campus volunteers may now log their volunteer hours online at case.edu/pubaff/govrel/volunteer/.
Another area the university saw a dramatic increase in is investment with minority- and women-owned businesses. From 2010-11, the university spent more than $16 million—a 50 percent increase in 2009-10.
As a direct result of such efforts, Case Western Reserve University has been the recipient of national accolades and recognition for our community engagement initiatives.
