U.S. News & World Report: Bryn Mota, senior director of University Fitness Centers, explained how a new form of interval walking training, known as "Japanese walking," works. “Start with a pace that is comfortable for you to hold a conversation for a set period and follow that with a brisk walk for the same time period. A brisk walk should elevate your heart rate and make it more difficult to carry on a normal conversation,” said Mota.
