Dean search relaunch: Call for search advisory committee nominations
Dear School of Dental Medicine Faculty and Staff,
I am pleased to announce that we are relaunching the national search for the next dean of the Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine.
As we relaunch this important search, we are seeking nominations—including self-nominations—of faculty and staff to serve on the search advisory committee. Individuals who served on the previous search advisory committee may be nominated again. The committee will play an important role in helping identify and evaluate candidates who can lead the School of Dental Medicine into its next chapter.
When considering nominations, please keep the following in mind:
- Ideal Characteristics: Committee members should embody integrity, discretion and a collaborative spirit. They will engage in confidential discussions, thoughtfully respond to inquiries about the search, and objectively assess candidates while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality. This is critical.
- Representation and Communication: Members should effectively represent the School of Dental Medicine to prospective candidates by being direct, personable and positive about its strengths and opportunities. At the same time, they should be authentic and candid when discussing the school’s challenges and areas for growth.
- Commitment to the Search Process: Serving on the committee will be a significant responsibility and a high priority. Members should have flexibility to participate in meetings, dedicate focused time to candidate review and due diligence, and remain engaged throughout the various stages of the search.
