Did You Know: W. Aubrey Webson

This month, Case Western Reserve University hosts its annual homecoming celebration, bringing together students, families and alumni on campus. In honor of the many graduates who have helped shape the university and their respective industries, we will highlight a few of our outstanding alumni this month. Alumnus W. Aubrey Webson (MGT '04) is the ambassador to the United Nations for Antigua and Barbuda. Throughout his career, Webson has helped create opportunities for children with disabilities, including work with:

• Perkins School of the Blind as an institutional development consultant;
• Sight Savers International and Helen Keller International; and
• Caribbean Council for the Blind as chief executive.

His work with these organizations has helped students with visual impairments, particularly in establishing accommodations and equality for those living in the Caribbean, Africa and Latin America. He earned his doctorate in management from the Weatherhead School of Management while continuing his work at the Perkins School of the Blind, which is based in Massachusetts. With the United Nations, Webson writes policy to address climate change, which is of particular concern to Antigua and Barbuda as the country’s islands draw tourists to its beaches.
