Ross Duffin, the Fynette H. Kulas Professor of Music and Distinguished University Professor, was named a recipient of the 2018 Howard Mayer Brown Award for lifetime achievement in the field of early music from Early Music America. This award is named in memory of Howard Mayer Brown, a renowned musicologist from the University of Chicago.
Former Case Western Reserve University music faculty member and co-founder of the CWRU Early Music Singers (with Duffin) Beverly Simmons also received the award.
