The Ellipsis Institute will host its inaugural conference at Case Western Reserve University with two days of networking, activities, workshops and lectures designed to provide participants with the tools and resources to successfully produce advocacy actions on campus. The conference will be held April 12-13.
The conference will open Thursday, April 12, at 5 p.m. in the Thwing Center Atrium with an event featuring music and poetry performances and free salsa lessons.
The conference will continue Friday, April 13, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Thwing Center ballroom.
The second day will begin with the "Radical Welcome" at 9 a.m. Regine Roy, founder of Queen Geniuses, will give a keynote address at 10 a.m. on "Reclaiming Your Throne.” Marilyn S. Mobley, vice president for inclusion, diversity and equal opportunity, then will lead an inter-generational luncheon and conversation.
The afternoon activities include a workshop with Roy and a panel titled “Queer as Liberation.”
The Ellipsis Institute is free and open to all faculty, students and staff. Those interested can attend the conference for one day or two and are welcome to attend what parts of the day their schedules permit.
