Wind at Progressive Field: Lake Erie is only part of the answer
cleveland.com: Bryan Schmidt, assistant professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering in Case School of Engineering, commented on the windy conditions at Progressive Field. “Downtown areas in cities create obstructions to the wind. All those tall buildings—buildings of different heights, buildings that are sort of spaced irregularly in an older city like Cleveland," he said, "create unpredictable swirling and different effects like that for the air to move around.”
