An experience with exponential potential

A note from the Office of Greek Life

CWRU’s Greek Life is a unique Greek experience with exponential potential. We emphasize the ability for each potential new member to discover a sorority/fraternity that will celebrate their unique contributions to the chapter and help them further grow towards the best version of themselves through the lens of our four pillars: Citizenship, Leadership, Ritual and Scholarship.

With 15 fraternities in our Interfraternity Congress, 10 sororities in our Panhellenic Council, and some on-campus and city-wide NPHC chapters, there is a place for everyone to feel belonging.

The benefits of joining a sorority/fraternity include:

  • Build community and lifelong friendships
  • Academic and scholarship support
  • Service and philanthropy opportunities
  • Social events in organization
  • Networking
  • Leadership opportunities
  • Conventions, workshops and more

Recruitment for most of our organizations begins during the first few weeks during the fall and any undergrad at CWRU is eligible to participate in recruitment. Some organizations also include Cleveland Institute of Art and Cleveland Institute of Music. All chapters have their own criteria for membership, including GPA, values alignment, passion for service and philanthropy, and can be selective.
