Faculty members are invited to apply for a five-week series of interactive workshops on using data visualization and text analysis in the classroom.
This collaboration between University Center for Innovation in Teaching and Education and the Freedman Center for Digital Scholarship will give faculty members the opportunity to learn about digital scholarship and incorporate it into their teaching.
This series of workshops also will give participants the opportunity to explore an unfamiliar learning space as a novice in order to understand the differences in how novices and experts approach a given task, and to consider how this knowledge can improve your students’ learning outcomes.
Specifically, faculty members will:
- Learn how to use text analysis and data visualization tools to quickly identify trends or themes in large bodies of text;
- Participate in activities that will develop their qualitative and quantitative analytical skills; and
- Gain strategies for incorporating digital tools and resources into the classroom.
