All faculty members are invited to subscribe to the Case Western Reserve University Faculty Development Listserv, which provides announcements about career programming and social events for Case Western Reserve faculty and their partners and families.
Launched in May 2013, the Office of Faculty Development is dedicated to advancing the career development of CWRU faculty.
The mission of the Office of Faculty Development is to provide key resources across the university to strengthen the recruitment, advancement, retention and quality of life for faculty members at all career stages at CWRU.
The office engages in four overlapping activities:
- Information about polices, resources and programs is located on the website and in the Faculty Development Resource Brochure, which is distributed annually.
- Community-building activities include Newcomers Welcome Group and events like the annual picnic, wine tasting and other get togethers, which give faculty a chance to meet faculty from across the university.
- Career-development workshops and lunch and learn programs are created, or provided in collaboration with other offices, in response to the faculty climate survey results and the priorities and recommendations of the Faculty Development Council.
- Partner Hiring Assistance for faculty and staff partners and spouses is extended through the Ohio, Western Pennsylvania, and West Virginia Higher Education Recruitment Consortium.
