Free student tickets are still available for this Wednesday's Writers Center Stage event featuring authors Rachel Kushner and Piper Kerman. The event begins at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 16 at the Maltz Performing Arts Center. Students can pick up a ticket at the Tinkham Veale University Center information desk by showing their student ID.
Rachel Kushner is the best-selling author of The Flamethrowers, a finalist for the National Book Award and a New York Times Top Ten Book of 2013. Piper Kerman's 15 months in prison inspired the 2010 best-selling memoir Orange Is the New Black, which was later turned into an Emmy Award-winning Netflix series of the same name.
