Get in the giving spirit this holiday season with the Charity Choice campaign

This season is often a time for giving. With the holidays quickly approaching, faculty and staff can get into the giving spirit by participating in this year’s Charity Choice campaign. The Charity Choice campaign runs through Dec. 16. This year’s chairs—Lynn T. Singer, deputy provost and vice president for academic affairs, and Ken Chance, dean of the School of Dental Medicine—hope the campaign will help to continue growing the culture of giving on campus. Singer and Chance thank all of those who have already made contributions to the campaign. Through Charity Choice, individuals can make a donation of any amount to one of three partner agencies:

• United Way of Cleveland, leading convener and funder of partnerships focused on solutions for the community's health and human service priorities.

• Greater Cleveland Community Shares, a Northeast Ohio workplace-giving federation focused on advocacy and social change.
• EarthShare Ohio, focused on local, regional and national nonprofit conservation and environmental organizations.

Read more about each of the three partner agencies at case.edu/charitychoice/charities/. In addition, donors can designate nearly any non-profit 501(c)3 organization to receive their support. This makes it possible for faculty and staff to contribute to the organizations they already donate to and volunteer for. Your choice of charity and the amount you contribute is entirely confidential; the university only receives collective totals. “Participating in Charity Choice gives us all an opportunity to help our fellow citizens and to contribute to making Cleveland a vibrant and compassionate community,” Singer said. “The services provided by the agencies in Charity Choice are essential for many people who may be ill, out of work or have had great difficulties emerge in their lives.” Donations can be made online through HCM or by paper form as a one-time payment or multiple payroll deductions.
