Just over one-fifth of respondents (22.2 percent) recognized their location: Rockefeller Building. The lions are carved into the top of the structure, which is one of the more ornate buildings on campus. It was constructed in 1905 through a $110,000 gift (more than $2.9 million today) from John D. Rockefeller, a well-known Cleveland industrialist. It has housed the Department of Physics since its inception.
