Hear about CWRU and Cleveland’s commitment to sustainable food in April 13 event

Greenyourfoodeventflyer 233x300The Office of Sustainability and the Staff Advisory Council’s Environment & Climate Work Committee will host a “Green Your Food Event” April 13. The event will comprise a local food panel and discussion with Jenita McGowan, the City of Cleveland’s chief of sustainability, on “2012: The Year of Local Food”; Chris Bond, the university horticulturalist on the farm’s food growing program; a representative from Bon Appetit on Farm to Fork, a local food purchasing initiative; and Kathleen Dowdell, co-chair of the Garden @ Case, on donating fresh food to those in need. The event will be held April 13 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in the Inamori International Center for Ethics and Excellence Room 9A, the basement of Crawford Hall. Coffee and dessert will be provided.
