The Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences will host Marcin Gońda, the Kościuszko Foundation Fellow at the University of Lodz in Poland, for a talk. Gońda will present “How Can Public Policies Support Full Participation in Society? The Case of Poland” Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 1 p.m. in Mandel School, Room 336.

People aged 25-34 are crucial for Poland’s future economic situation, but the young Poles’ pathways towards socio-economic and political maturity are not adequately supported by coherent and coordinated public policies. Despite young peoples’ expectations for policy interventions in education, the labor market, family support and/or housing, existing policy solutions are not sufficient. What are the implications of the gaps in these public policies and what will be the impact on the future economic development and social cohesion of Poland? This talk has been approved for one professional development hour.
