J.B. Silvers says Cleveland's medical mart still faces an uphill battle

Nashville developers abandon plans for a medical mart; Cleveland site to open in July 2013 The Plain Dealer: Developers abandoned plans for a Medical Trade Center in Nashville, Tenn., leaving Cleveland’s medical mart as the final project in the works. While it’s good for Cleveland, it doesn’t guarantee the project’s success, said J.B. Silvers, the John R. Mannix Medical Mutual of Ohio Professor of Healthcare Finance. "The real question for our medical mart, I think, is who are the anchor tenants and when are they going to get the contracts signed?" Silvers said. "Until you've actually done it, there's always going to be a question. The proof is having those contracts and opening the doors and having people show up."
