Erik M. Jensen, the Coleman P. Burke Professor Emeritus of Law, recently penned an opinion piece titled “Revisiting the 25th Amendment in a (perhaps) calmer time” and published on cleveland.com about the 25th amendment.
The amendment became a talking point following the U.S. Capitol insurrection in January. In his piece, Jensen clarified some misconceptions that arose.
Jensen concluded that now—when a move wouldn’t be perceived as targeting the current occupant of the White House—is a good time to clarify how a muddled part of the amendment can be made to function.
