Law’s Jonathan Entin explains why Ohio early voting is nearly four times higher than in 2022
Ohio’s early in-person voting turnout nearly quadruples compared to last midterm election

Brennan Professor Emeritus of Law, said competitive statewide races, uncertainty about mail ballots, and concerns about national issues may be driving higher early voting. Ohio has recorded nearly 195,000 early in-person ballots for the 2026 midterms, nearly four times the roughly 50,000 cast at the same point in 2022.
