Lawmakers propose harsher penalties for political violence

Spectrum News: Michael Benza, professor of practice at the School of Law, said Ohio’s proposed law raising penalties for politically motivated murders is unprecedented, would make prosecutions harder by adding proof requirements about motive and is unlikely to deter crime—since death penalty states don’t show lower homicide rates than others.
