Learn more about summer parking options

Those with CWRU student and temporary ID cards may purchase summer parking in select lots on campus in-person at Access Services in Crawford Hall, Room 18. Summer permits officially went on sale to students May 4, and employees may begin purchasing them Monday, June 1. Summer parking cannot extend beyond the Sunday before classes begin in the fall. The following lots/garages are available for summer parking:

• Lots 44 (Murray Hill and Adelbert Road),
• S-46 (North Residential Village parking structure between East 115th and 118th streets),
• 47 (Murray Hill and Adelbert Road behind the Art Studio),
• S-53 (Veale Parking Structure on Adelbert Road),
• S-29 (under the Kelvin Smith Library), and
• lot 5 (Murray Hill near Fribley).

S-53 and S-29 require gate cards for access. Those who parked in one of these structures during the school year should still have their access card if they wish to park in either structure this summer. The replacement fee for an access card is $25. Those who don’t have a permit for S-29 or S-53 will need to pay a $10 deposit for the gate card. Summer parking is sold on a temporary basis. Permits become effective the day they are purchased and end on the expiration date punched or written on the hangtag. There is no grace period at the end of that time. The charge is based on the lot assignment and the duration of the permit. All permits become effective on the date of purchase. Monthly permits expire one month from the date of purchase. New rates for July 1 onward will be posted online in May. There are no transfers, cancellations or refunds for any summer permits. For Faculty/Staff

In order to obtain a summer parking permit, employees must bring their current hangtag and gate card (if applicable) to purchase a different lot for summer. Summer parking cannot be payroll deducted; it must prepaid at Access Services. Employees must return to their original assigned parking when the summer parking permit expires. Faculty members on leave for the summer must turn in their parking permits and gate cards to Access Services in order to have their parking payroll deduction temporarily suspended. Access Services will hold their parking spaces until they return in fall.

For Students

A temporary summer permit does not guarantee parking in the same lot during the academic year. Students may try to reserve space in the same lot through the online reservation process. Students who intend to stay in the same lot for the fall and spring semesters (and are eligible to do so) must purchase their academic year parking through the Student Online Permits menu option that appears on this page. Others who purchase temporary permits during the summer will be assigned based on space availability when classes begin.
