Lewis Katz weighs in on importance of scissors in Amish attack case

Landmark hate crimes law allowed feds to build case in Amish attacks The Plain Dealer: A pair of scissors made in New York and brought to Ohio might be used in the case of a dozen Amish men who allegedly forcibly cut the hair and beards of fellow Amish. They come into play because of a hate crimes law that is rooted in Congress’ power to regulate interstate commerce. School of Law professor Lewis Katz said he thinks the interstate travel of the scissors is a tenuous argument.
