Vanessa Van Doren, a student at the School of Medicine, co-authored a piece for STAT arguing for a public health insurance system.
In the piece, titled “We are America’s future doctors. We support a Medicare-for-all health system,” Van Doren and three other medical students from other universities argued that a lack of regular access to health care costs the government as patients go to hospitals more often with conditions that could have been prevented.
