Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine will host the Taste of Peru charity benefit March 31.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Peru Health Outreach Project (formerly the Lamay Clinic Project), a grassroots organization led by the medical students. The project is committed to empowering the underserved people of the Sacred Valley Region of Peru by providing essential medical care, public health education and healthcare workshops. The project relies on community donations and hundreds of hours of work by dedicated students, nurses, physicians, families and friends.
The annual Taste of Peru charity gala and silent auction will feature Peruvian cuisine, Peruvian dancing with lessons and Latin music. Additionally, the event offers a way for the Cleveland community to learn more about the project.
The event will be held March 31 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Lerner Commons of the Cleveland Clinic (9600 Carnegie Ave.). General admission tickets are $40, or $20 for those with a valid student ID. To purchase tickets, visit ccfcme.org/tasteofperu2012/.
