ideastream: Ryan Marino, assistant professor at the School of Medicine, said long-term exposure to the chemicals found in the water supply at Camp LeJeune have been shown to cause liver damage and cancer. “At Camp Lejeune, there was a very high incidence of breast cancer in men, which is a very low incidence in the general population,” Marino said. “These kinds of things show that, or suggest that there is probably some sort of link there.”
