“Millennials: What You Should Know About Them and Why”

The Siegal Lifelong Learning Program will host a lunch program with Peter J. Haas, the Abba Hillel Silver Professor Emeritus of Jewish Studies, on millennials. Haas will present “Millennials: What You Should Know About Them and Why” Thursday, Jan. 18, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Landmark Centre Building (25700 Science Park Drive, Beachwood). This session costs $21 for members of the Siegal Lifelong Learning Program, and $26 for nonmembers. Lunch will be included. Get more details and register for the talk.

Talk description

Millennials make up 35 percent of the workforce and they are the first generation to come of age in a world of electronic and social networking. Millennials are sometimes described as lazy, self-centered and civically disengaged, but also are considered more self-expressive, open-minded and receptive to alternate lifestyles based on gender, race or religion. This generation will have a profound and growing impact on the social, civic and political life of America (and elsewhere) over the next decades. They are worth understanding.
