The Mood Disorders Program in the Department of Psychiatry at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center is conducting a study to look at signal patterns in the brain through the use of MRI technology. We want to learn more about how signals in the brain differ in people with bipolar disorder compared to people without bipolar disorder. Learning about possible differences may help us use deep brain stimulation as a treatment for bipolar disorder. We are looking for people at least 18 years of age to participate. The screening visit and MRI scan will last approximately 3 hours and can be done in one day. You may be eligible for this study if you have bipolar disorder. We are also looking for people without any psychiatric disorders to participate in this study as healthy controls. Participants will be compensated for their time.
