Case Western Reserve University has published new Guidelines for Social Media Use, now available on the University Marketing and Communications website.

The guidelines are intended to help students, postdoctoral scholars, faculty and staff responsibly navigate personal social media use while protecting privacy, respecting university policies and upholding CWRU’s institutional values. Topics addressed include personal account disclaimers, use of university information technology resources, protection of confidential information, responsible online engagement and appropriate use of the university’s name and brand.

The guidelines are not intended to limit rights related to freedom of expression, academic freedom or protected activity under applicable law.
