New report available on students’ transition from high school to CWRU

The Office of Planning and Institutional Research released 13 new reports about the first-year experience at Case Western Reserve University.  One report provides information about first-year students’ transition to Case Western Reserve. Results indicate that most 2012-13 first-year students:

• Would recommend CWRU to others if asked (92 percent)
• Felt they were a member of CWRU (89 percent)
• Saw themselves as part of the campus community (88 percent)
• Felt a sense of belonging to CWRU (85 percent)

In terms of their academic adjustment, 79 percent of students said it was easy to understand what their professors expected of them academically. A little more than half said it was easy to adjust to the academic demands of college and develop effective study skills. Fewer than half said it was easy to manage their time effectively.
