Nursing instructor Dana Severin honored with Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses Preceptor of the Year recognition
Dana Severin, MSN, RN, FNP-BC, an instructor at Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, has been selected as the 2025 Preceptor of the Year by the Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses. Granted in October, this award recognizes an advanced practice registered nurse who demonstrates exceptional clinical expertise, compassionate patient care, and an enduring commitment to mentoring the next generation of healthcare providers.
Severin is widely commended for her “hands-on,” “patient” and “deeply engaging” approach to teaching. Students consistently remark that she cultivates a learning environment that is both supportive and intellectually challenging, where they feel encouraged to ask questions, think critically and develop confidence in their clinical abilities. Her dedication to fostering professional growth is reflected in the respect and admiration she receives from learners and colleagues alike.
