Man with diabetes determined to help others with the disease live well
Cleveland Heights Patch: A Cleveland Heights resident lost his vision at age 21 due to complications from diabetes; since then, he’s devoted himself to raising money for education programs focused on prevention. He and Ann Williams, nursing research associate, organized a Swim for Diabetes team called the VIPS—Visually Impaired Persons. “We’re a group of people with disabilities, and everybody is going to do what they can do, and that’s acceptable,” Williams said.
