Mike Martens, professor of physics, will present “Particle Accelerators: The World’s Largest Machines” at the next Origins Science Scholars Program series event. The session will be held Tuesday, Nov. 7, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. Free parking will be available.

Particle accelerators began almost a century ago as tabletop apparatuses and are now the world's largest machines—tens of miles long, crossing international borders, requiring whole power plants to operate. Martens will discuss the nuances of these massive machines. The program schedule will be:- 5:30 to 6: Coffee and sign-in
