Career readiness is a shared responsibility, and this fall, the Center for Career Success is excited to launch the third year of its Career Champions program, with a new model designed to strengthen career readiness across the Case Western Reserve University community.
Building on the success of the past two years, Career Champions 2.0 is expanding beyond its original faculty and staff cohort to include students, alumni and employer partners, creating a collaborative learning community centered on career education, workforce readiness and student success.
About the program
Rather than viewing career development as the responsibility of one office, Career Champions 2.0 recognizes that meaningful student career preparation happens through an interconnected network of:
- Educators,
- Advisors,
- Mentors,
- Alumni,
- Employers, and
- Peers.
By bringing together individuals from across the university ecosystem in a single cohort, this program provides a unique opportunity for participants to exchange perspectives, share effective practices and explore meaningful ways to integrate career development throughout the student experience.
CWRU faculty and staff—whether a teacher, advisor, mentor, program coordinator or other individual that supports students—are encouraged to participate in and share this opportunity with students, alumni and employer partners who may be interested in contributing to this collaborative initiative.
How to participate
Through five interactive Friday sessions during the fall semester, participants will:
- Examine how careers, industries and workforce expectations are evolving in an AI-enabled world;
- Explore evidence-based approaches to supporting career conversations, career decision-making and student career readiness;
- Discover practical strategies for connecting academic learning, experiential education, internships, research and co-curricular experiences to workforce needs; and
- Build meaningful relationships across campus and with external partners.
Together, participants will strengthen the connections between academic, co-curricular and professional learning while developing practical, manageable approaches to preparing students for lifelong career success.
