The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Center will hold a pilot meeting of the Asexual Conversation Group, Monday, Oct. 7, from 6 to 7 p.m. in the LGBT Center’s Cleveland Room. Snacks will be provided.
This group is for students who identify as asexual or are questioning their sexual orientation. Some of the topics that will be covered at the meeting are:
- Labels;
- Coming out as asexual and the special challenges facing asexual persons in a "sexualnormative" world;
- Romantic and aromantic asexuality;
- Asexuality in the media; and
- Support resources for asexual persons and their families.
This is a pilot conversation group. Based on response, the LGBT Center may consider adding it permanently to its rotation of conversation groups next semester.
