Human blood types have deep evolutionary roots
ScienceNews: A new analysis suggests that the A, B and O blood types in people evolved at least 20 million years ago in a common ancestor of humans and other primates. The reason for the evolution of multiple blood types remains a mystery, but Brian Cobb, associate professor of pathology, said the diversity “may have led to protection against whatever might come your way.”
