Physics graduate student Joel Pendery received a Chateaubriand Fellowship from the French government to work with Emmanuelle Lacaze on a project at Université Pierre et Marie Curie. In November, Pendery will begin the 10-month fellowship, where he will work on a collaborative project on the nanoscopic positioning of gold nanoparticles in liquid crystals and subsequent studies by means of plasmon resonance.
