The Department of English will host a poetry reading with poet Vievee Francis, associate professor of English and creative writing at Dartmouth College.
The reading will be held Friday, Nov. 9, from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. in Tinkham Veale University Center Senior Classroom.
The event is free and open to the public. A book signing will follow the reading and a Q&A.
About the speaker
Vievee Francis is the author of three books of poetry:- Blue-Tail Fly (Wayne State University Press, 2006),
- Horse in the Dark (Northwestern University Press, 2012), which was winner of the Cave Canem Northwestern University Poetry Prize for a second collection; and
- Forest Primeval (Northwestern University Press, 2016), which was winner of the Hurston Wright Legacy Award and the 2017 Kingsley-Tufts Poetry Award.
