Kaler said that new $2 million in federal funding—supporting the Next Generation Microgravity Research program with NASA Glenn—is “critical” to advancing microgravity research in a way that is both accessible and cost-effective. The funding, included in the FY2026 federal spending package, will help researchers study how fluids, fire, materials, microelectronics and living organisms behave in near-weightless conditions.
