Register for the CWRU Family Business Case Challenge

The Family Business Student Club, in partnership with the Weatherhead Center for Family Business, is recruiting undergraduate and graduate students to compete in the Case Western Reserve University Family Enterprise Case Competition.

Interested students are invited to attend the next information session and case distribution on Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 2 to 3 p.m. in Peter B. Lewis Building, Room 118. At this event, students will learn how the competition works, receive the family enterprise case and review suggested frameworks for approaching the analysis.

Up to 12 teams of up to four students will analyze a real-world family enterprise case and present their recommendations to a panel of judges on Oct. 30. Students from all majors and academic backgrounds are welcome, and no prior case competition or family business experience is required. Students may register with a team or sign up individually to be matched with teammates.

The competition includes a $2,250 prize pool:

  • First place: $1,000
  • Second place: $750
  • Third place: $500

The winning team will also represent CWRU at the 2027 Schlesinger Global Family Enterprise Case Competition at the University of Vermont in January 2027.

Register for the CWRU Family Business Case Challenge. The registration deadline is Friday, Oct. 16.
